Time machine could not complete the backup.. sparsebundle could not be accessed (Error 109)
Time Machine is a great way to take and manage the backup over time to time so that your personal data will be prevented from any kind of loss or other risks. But sometimes it may too have problems and can be stop in the middle of the backup process. A newly known problem with Time Machine is “ The Sparsebundle containing your backups is corrupted ”.
If it occurs then first you need to repair and verify the disk. For that there is the requirement of Disk Utility. To Repair the sparse bundle on a Time capsule, connect via an Ethernet cable if you can; it will be really faster. After this you need to mount the sparse bundle by opening the TC in the Finder and double click on the sparse bundle. Drag the Sparse Bundle to the disk utility sidebar and select it. With the desired partition or sparse bundle selected, click on the Repair Disk (no permissions) button. It will take time, especially if on a Time Capsule. If the errors found but not all of them were repaired then you can use the Repair Disk again until it fixes the errors.

- Insert the Install Disc for Snow Leopard and restart while holding the “C” Key. It will take few moments
- On next screen choose Utilities in the Menu Bar and then Disk Utility
- Do the Repair Disk on your Internal HD

If after doing all of these, still you are facing the problems then you need to use the professional 3 rd party Disk Repair applications that can also recover the lost data from the corrupted Mac Hard Drive.
